If your iPhone battery seems to die quick, there are some easy tweaks you can make to help it last longer.
There are three settings on your iPhone that can drain the battery differently. Tweaking these can save you from constantly needing to charge your phone every few minutes, and it can really help your battery stretch a bit further.
1. Turn Off Widgets on the Lock Screen
Widgets on your lock screen keep apps running in the background, always pulling in updates like sports scores or weather info, which uses up battery. To save battery with iOS 18, the simplest thing is to ditch those widgets completely. Just hold down on your current lock screen and swipe to find one without any widgets.
If you want to stick with your current lock screen, that's cool too. Just press and hold it, tap "Customize," go to "Lock Screen," uncheck the "Widget" box, and hit the “—” next to each widget you want to remove.
2. Cut Down on Motion Effects
Your iPhone has some smooth animations and cool effects, like when you open and close apps or how Siri pops up with those colorful transitions. While these make your phone feel fun to use, they can use up battery life.
To tone down the animations in iOS, you can turn on the "Reduce Motion" option. Head over to Settings, then Accessibility, then Motion, and pick "Reduce Motion."
3. Switch Off Keyboard Vibrations
The keyboard on your iPhone didn’t always vibrate while you typed, but that "haptic feedback" was added in iOS 16. It gives a little buzz with each tap instead of just a clicking sound, which can drain battery too, according to Apple.
This feature isn’t on by default, but if you’ve turned it on, you can switch it off by going to Settings, then Sounds & Haptics, and turning off the "Haptic" option.
Give these changes a try and see if it helps your battery hold up better!
